Chrome carbide coatings are used in situations of adhesive wear, cavitation and
other types of wear but at high temperature: top performance range 1200°F to 1600°F.
At this temperatures Tungsten carbide coatings have a phase transition that can
compromise the quality of the coating and that's why the Chrome carbide coatings
are preferred for this situations.
This coating has a good adhesion strength also increased by a special substrate
designed to enhance the resistance against cracks but also corrosion and oxidation
at high temperature.
Hardness from 350HV to 450HV
Thickness from 0.004 to 0.015 inches.
Roughness after grinding and polishing: 0.05 Ra
